Sitting proudly on the Medoc’s highest plateau, Château LE VIVIER has consistently produced the finest MÉDOC quality wines for over three centuries.
Château LE VIVIER is vinified in an elegant fruit-forward style, with ripe blackcurrant and cassis fruit, balanced by a rich, medium to full-bodied palate, and smooth silky tannins.
Occassionally we produce a limited amount of Château LE VIVIER "Grande Cuvée Reserve" when mother Nature has provided us with a very special harvest.
With Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) and Merlot (50%), growing on limestone-clay based soil, our unique terroir delivers rich and complex wines with minimal intervention, winning awards and recognition around the world.
Our philosophy is somewhat different to many in Bordeaux. In 1990 we built the largest underground cellar in the Médoc, locally known as "The Cathedral", where we have the ability to stock over 10 separate vintages, releasing the wines as they become ready to drink.
Château LE VIVIER is often awarded the coveted gold medal in international concours, and proudly displays them on the 2005, 2006, 2010, 2011 and 2012 vintages.
Today vintages from 2005 to 2011 are currently being enjoyed in over 40 countries around the world.
